I'm going to be doing album reviews. I'm an amateur. I don't pretend to be some expert on music theory or anything like that. I'm going to listen to an album song by song. I'm going to explain why I like or don't like a particular song. Rank the songs from best to worst as well as giving them a rating of +1, 0, or -1. 1 means I would actively seek that song out. 0 means I wouldn't seek it out, but I wouldn't skip it if it came on. -1 means I dislike it and would skip it if it came on.  At the end, I will grade the album on a scale unique to my reviews.

The worst score: I've bled out
The next score up: My ears are bleeding
The middling score: I'm Switzerland
The next score up: My neck hurts
The best score: I broke My neck

Opus Eponymous by Ghost

To start, I will say that I am a pretty big fan of Ghost. I have not exactly been around since the start, but I have been a fan since Meliora. I think that Ghost is an absolutely brilliant band that blends old school rock with modern metal, like conjoined twins with skull shaped face paint on. Furthermore, I can easily see them going down as one of the greats, like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica, and more. Pre-album thoughts on Kontrust

Kontrust is a very interesting band. I discovered their wonderful and unique music from a recommendation on the side bar of a YouTube video. I was listening to "fucked with an anchor" by alestorm. A band I will get around to, I assure you. The so-called "pirate-metal" band is quite exhilarating to listen to for pirate lovers and rum lovers alike. That said, we aren't here to talk about Alestorm. Back on topic. The first song I listened to by Kontrust was the hilarious "sock n doll" music video. I was convinced it was a parody of metal music due to the nature of the video. Eventually, I found myself coming back to the song for it's catchy lyrics, fun guitar riffs, and talented vocals. From there, I listened to a few more of their songs. A few are from this album. Still, most of these are completely new to me. I'm excited to hear more of this band.
