Pre-album thoughts on Kontrust
Kontrust is a very interesting band. I discovered their wonderful and unique music from a recommendation on the side bar of a YouTube video. I was listening to "fucked with an anchor" by alestorm. A band I will get around to, I assure you. The so-called "pirate-metal" band is quite exhilarating to listen to for pirate lovers and rum lovers alike. That said, we aren't here to talk about Alestorm. Back on topic. The first song I listened to by Kontrust was the hilarious "sock n doll" music video. I was convinced it was a parody of metal music due to the nature of the video. Eventually, I found myself coming back to the song for it's catchy lyrics, fun guitar riffs, and talented vocals. From there, I listened to a few more of their songs. A few are from this album. Still, most of these are completely new to me. I'm excited to hear more of this band. That said, I can easily see the sound this band has get old very quickly if each song doesn't distinguish itself enough. Furthermore, all the songs I've heard from Kontrust were aquired tastes. That is to say, I had to listen to them multiple times before I really liked them. Since the sound and feel Kontrust aims for with their music is so.....different, I feel doing an entire album could destroy what love I do have for this band. We shall see, I suppose. Without further ado, let's get right into it.
